Aksaya Estates, Marriott to Launch Courtyard Nairobi Airport

By Ayomide Otitoju

Aksaya Estates Limited has entered into an agreement with Marriott International to develop the Courtyard by Marriott Nairobi Airport, slated for completion in 2027. The upcoming hotel will be situated at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Nairobi, enhancing the hospitality offerings at Kenya’s main international gateway and catering to both business and leisure travellers.

Construction on the 180-room property is already underway. Designed for flexibility and comfort, the Courtyard by Marriott Nairobi Airport will feature contemporary rooms and suites, two restaurants and bars, an expansive landscaped courtyard with a fire pit, a rooftop fitness centre, and an 18-metre swimming pool. The hotel will also offer adaptable indoor and outdoor event spaces for meetings and social gatherings.

Demonstrating its commitment to sustainability, the property has secured the Preliminary EDGE Advanced Certification from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), recognising its energy-efficient and environmentally responsible design.

This development marks the second Marriott-branded hotel owned and operated by Aksaya Estates in Kenya, following the successful Sankara Nairobi, Autograph Collection in Westlands.

Marriott International, a global leader in hospitality, operates more than 9,600 properties across 143 countries and territories under over 30 leading brands. The Courtyard by Marriott brand is part of Marriott Bonvoy, the company’s global travel programme.
