Aston Villa have signed Senegal winger Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for a reported £47 million ($63 million), the Premier League club announced on Tuesday.
Mbaye, 18, made 31 appearances in all competitions for PSG last season as the French side won the UEFA Champions League and Ligue 1 titles.
The France-born winger also featured four times for Senegal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring against France to become the youngest African player to score in the men’s tournament.
“Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain,” the club said in a statement.
“The Senegal international, a bright and exciting young prospect who scored for his country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, joins on a permanent transfer.”
Mbaye becomes Villa’s latest signing following a major squad overhaul at the club.
Villa ended a 30-year trophy drought last season by winning the Europa League, but have since sold Morgan Rogers, Youri Tielemans, Ollie Watkins, Lucas Digne, Emiliano Martinez and Ezri Konsa.
Manager Unai Emery has responded by bringing in Alejandro Garnacho, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Johan Manzambi, Zion Suzuki, Joao Gomes, Leon Goretzka, Matteo Ruggeri and Nicolas Jackson
