Atiku, Amaechi Submit ADC Presidential Forms for 2027 Race

Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi on Thursday submitted their presidential nomination forms under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general election.

The two leading aspirants submitted their forms at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja as preparations intensify for the ADC presidential primary.

In a post shared on X, Atiku described the submission of his nomination form as a major step toward restoring prosperity and hope to Nigeria.

He said the movement was beyond politics and represented a collective national effort aimed at rescuing the country from its current challenges.

Atiku also called on Nigerians across regional, religious and ethnic lines to support the mission of rebuilding the nation and restoring economic progress.

Amaechi, a former Minister of Transportation, also confirmed the submission of his forms on X, stating that he had officially joined the race to help “salvage” Nigeria.

According to him, his ambition is centred on restoring dignity to Nigerians and promoting unity, peace, prosperity and national development.

The ADC had earlier released its timetable for the 2026 primary elections.

Under the schedule, primaries for State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senate seats are expected to begin on May 21, 2026, while governorship primaries will hold on May 22.

The party’s presidential primary election is scheduled for May 25, 2026.
