Chelsea Football Club has confirmed the signing of Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino for an undisclosed fee.
However, the 19-year-old will be immediately loaned back to Boca Juniors for the 2024/25 season. Anselmino has secured a seven-year contract with Chelsea following his 10 senior appearances for Boca Juniors, which began with his professional debut in June 2023. Notably, he scored his first career goal during a Copa Sudamericana victory over Trinidense in April. This acquisition marks Chelsea’s eighth signing of the summer transfer window. The London club, which finished sixth in the Premier League last season, is set to commence the new campaign at home against champions Manchester City on August 18th.
