Everton FC head coach, Rafa Benitez has revealed that Super Eagles hitman, Alex Iwobi suffered a slight abductor complaint and would be properly examined if he will be fit for the Toffees Saturday tie with Brighton & Hove Albion.
Iwobi despite copping the injury in their 2-1 win at Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup tie on Tuesday the Nigerian did not ask to be substituted.
Benitez who praised the former Arsenal player for his sacrifice and determination and selflessness for the Toffees provided an update on Alex Iwobi’s fitness after the Nigerian – who scored the opening goal of the match – appeared in some discomfort in the final stages of the game.
“He was feeling a little bit tight in his abductor,” Benitez said.
“We have to assess him but the main thing is, you can see he was limping, but he was still working very hard.
“I think he did a great job and was showing his commitment.”
