Canon has unveiled the Colorado XL-series, a new platform of 3.4m large-format printers that brings the advantages of its UVgel technology to the 3.2m graphics market. Designed for both hybrid and roll-to-roll applications, the modular and field-upgradable series offers versatility and high productivity across a wide range of media, including signage, décor, point-of-sale, and packaging.
The series comprises two user-friendly models: the Colorado XL7 roll-to-roll printer and the Colorado XL7 hybrid printer. Both systems handle diverse substrates—from banners, vinyl, and films to soft signage, heat-sensitive materials, foam board, acrylic, aluminium composite, and cardboard—with print speeds ranging from 70m²/hour in quality mode to 211m²/hour in express mode. Rigid media up to 52mm thick are supported.
Canon’s innovations in the XL-series include the UVgel 860 ink set, delivering odourless, instant-dry prints with high mechanical and chemical durability, dimensional stability, and consistent colour. Users can achieve matte or gloss finishes without additional varnish. The series also features UVgel 850 PrintHeads with 4,544 nozzles, automated nozzle monitoring, and the ability to print CMYK with just two printheads.
The platform introduces UVgel FullBeam Curing, a 3.4m-wide LED curing system that ensures consistent light dosing across large surfaces for uniform print quality and an expanded colour gamut. Media transport is optimised with the UVgel TRIdrive vacuum belt system, which uses interactive rollers and vacuum zones to minimise wrinkling and skewing.
Optional features include UVgel White for white printing, FLXfinish+ for mixed gloss and matte effects without varnish, and FLXture for textured finishes mimicking leather, wood, or fabric.

The Colorado XL-series will be available from early 2026 through Canon’s direct sales channels and accredited partners.
