China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Visit Nigeria and Three African Nations

China’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, will visit Nigeria and three other African nations this month as part of his annual diplomatic tour.

The visits, set to take place from January 5 to January 11, 2025, will include stops in Namibia, the Republic of the Congo, and Chad.

A statement released by the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning, on Friday confirmed that the visits were scheduled based on invitations from the respective countries.

This marks the 35th consecutive year that Wang Yi will embark on an overseas trip to Africa at the start of the year, underscoring China’s longstanding diplomatic ties with the continent.
