The Lagos State chapter of the City Boy Movement on Monday held a special prayer session and empowerment programme in honour of Barrister Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, to celebrate his 40th birthday.

At the event, which took place at the Blue Roof in Alausa, Ikeja, 3,000 Lagos residents received N50,000 each as part of the group’s empowerment initiative.

Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Mr. Oluwatosin Shogo, said the programme was organised to honour Seyi Tinubu for his humility, generosity, and commitment to uplifting the less privileged.

“Special thanks to everyone who made this possible in honour of a great man. God has given us a blessing in Seyi Tinubu, a young man who empowers Nigerians and opens doors of opportunity for others,” Shogo said.

Speaking at the event, Lagos State Chairman of the Movement and Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, described Seyi Tinubu as a symbol of excellence and commitment to the Renewed Hope vision.

“At 40, he embodies the coexistence of entrepreneurship and public purpose. The City Boy Movement, conceived in his visionary mind, serves as a platform for young Nigerians to participate meaningfully in governance,” Ogunlewe stated.

Also speaking, Hon. Temitope Adewale, member representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, lauded Seyi Tinubu’s compassion and selflessness, noting his dedication to youth empowerment and service.

“I’ve known Seyi Tinubu for years. He is humble, energetic, and always supportive of his father, President Bola Tinubu, the APC, and the youth. His giving spirit inspires many,” Adewale said, adding that young Nigerians should emulate his hard work and self-reliance.

In his remarks, Hon. Sesan Olowa, Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki LCDA and Conference 57, said the empowerment initiative reflected the values Seyi Tinubu represents.

“The organisers believe this empowerment exemplifies what Seyi Tinubu stands for — generosity, service, and impact,” Olowa noted.

Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mojisola Meranda, praised the celebrant for his humility and positive influence on others, assuring that his good deeds would yield great rewards.

She also urged APC supporters to participate actively in the ongoing voter registration ahead of the 2027 elections.

Lagos APC Youth Leader, Dr. Seriki Muritala, described Seyi Tinubu as a role model for Nigerian youths, encouraging them to be steadfast and kind in their pursuits.

Delivering a sermon, Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe of the Celestial Church of Christ, Genesis Parish, admonished attendees to guard their character and actions, describing Seyi Tinubu as “a man worthy of celebration for his impact on countless lives.”

The event featured both Christian and Islamic prayers, along with musical performances by various gospel artists, as participants joined in celebrating Seyi Tinubu’s 40th birthday.
