Her Eminence Amb. Dr. Prevail Farida Ahmed, O FCPA, DFILMMD-UK, CPAc, has paid an official courtesy visit to the Minister of Defence, retired Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa, to discuss the forthcoming PPUGI Men’s Mental Health Conference 2026.
The conference, themed “Providing Direction and Support 5.0: Breaking the Silence; Mental Health Support for Our Men (Security Personnel),” focuses on promoting mental health awareness and emotional wellbeing among Nigeria’s security personnel.
The meeting was described as productive and encouraging, with the Defence Minister commending the initiative and its emphasis on supporting the psychological wellbeing of men in uniform.
Gen. Musa, a former Chief of Defence Staff, expressed strong support for the programme, noting the importance of mental health advocacy for personnel who serve in high-pressure security environments.
He also accepted to serve as the Distinguished Special Guest of Honour at the 2026 conference, while urging the organisers to continue advancing awareness on mental health, emotional resilience, and psychosocial support across the country.
The engagement underscores ongoing efforts to deepen national conversations around mental health, leadership, and the welfare of security personnel in Nigeria.
