The Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) University in Kwara State is expected to begin academic operations by 2026, according to Rev. Esther Ajayi, Chairperson of the C&S Centenary Anniversary Steering Committee.
Ajayi, who is also the Founder of the Love of Christ Church, Lagos, disclosed this during the centenary lecture of the church held on Monday in Lagos. She noted that construction of the institution is already 80 per cent complete.
Describing the project as a milestone achievement that reflects the church’s commitment to human development over its 100-year history, Ajayi said the university would play a pivotal role in moulding future leaders and addressing the moral decline in society.
“With the decline in moral values, the university will serve as a buffer to instill in students the values required to advance society,” she said.
Ajayi stressed that the C&S mission remains to remodel holiness in daily conduct, adding that the institution would nurture students to become disciplined, value-driven individuals.
“The church is setting up institutions and structures to strengthen its bridge-building mission in the world. A renewed C&S inspires generations and the global community to rediscover its roots and promote true human service,” she said.
She added that the church also plans to extend its evangelism efforts to Europe and the West, noting that education would be central to grooming bold minds capable of preaching, evangelising, and addressing the social challenges confronting humanity.
