Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group, has announced a $700 million commitment by the Dangote Foundation to support the education of Nigerians over the next decade.
Speaking on Sunday at the 2025 Doha Forum in Qatar, the billionaire industrialist said the initiative aims to benefit more than 155,000 students across secondary schools and universities nationwide.
Dangote made the disclosure during a panel session featuring Bill Gates and Sheikha Al Mayassa, where discussions centred on innovation, philanthropy, and cultural investment as pathways to expanding opportunities in Africa and beyond.
He said the long-term funding will help reduce Nigeria’s out-of-school population and strengthen the country’s technical workforce, positioning more young people to contribute effectively to national economic growth.
