Dangote Industries Limited has emerged as one of the biggest attractions at the ongoing Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) 2025 in Algiers, Algeria, with visitors thronging its exhibition stand to make inquiries, particularly about polypropylene (PP), a key product of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.
Polypropylene, a versatile thermoplastic polymer used in food containers, textiles, and automobile parts, drew the most attention from potential buyers due to its strength, lightweight nature, and resistance to heat and chemicals.
Among the dignitaries who visited the Dangote stand on Friday were Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell; Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Terrance Drew; Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; and Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal. The leaders commended Dangote’s vast investments across Africa, describing them as pivotal to the continent’s socio-economic growth.
They were received by Engr. Mansur Ahmed, Special Adviser and Representative of Aliko Dangote, alongside other senior executives of the conglomerate.
As a Premier Partner of the fourth edition of IATF, Dangote Group is showcasing its expansive portfolio, which spans cement, fertilisers, petrochemicals, refined petroleum products, sugar, salt, and logistics. The company, which operates over 18 subsidiaries, is positioning its diverse ventures as key drivers of Africa’s industrial and economic transformation.
Organised by Afreximbank in collaboration with the African Union Commission and the AfCFTA Secretariat, the IATF is Africa’s flagship trade and investment forum. This year’s fair has attracted over 2,000 exhibitors from within and outside Africa and is projected to generate more than US$44 billion in trade and investment deals.
The Dangote Special Day at the fair is scheduled for Saturday.
