Dangote Petroleum Refinery has expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his decisive intervention in averting what it described as “disruptive actions” by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) against the company.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the refinery praised the President’s leadership, noting that his directives—executed through key ministers and senior government officials—helped restore order and stability to the energy sector at a critical time.
“Dangote Refinery is grateful to President Bola Tinubu for his intervention, through his ministers and senior officials, which resulted in the abatement of the disruptive actions of PENGASSAN against the refinery,” the statement read.
The company specifically acknowledged the efforts of National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) Adeola Toyin Ajayi, and Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Mohammed Mohammed, alongside several ministers who worked “tirelessly and determinedly” to maintain stability.
These included the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Mohammed Dingyadi; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu; and Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha.
The company also extended gratitude to Nigerians for their overwhelming support during the crisis. “Your supportive voices and words of encouragement gave us hope and reinforced our belief in the Nigerian nation and people as the backbone of our enterprise,” the statement noted.
Dangote Refinery lauded its workers for their loyalty and resilience throughout the industrial tension, assuring them of continued fair treatment, competitive remuneration, and professional growth opportunities. It reaffirmed that the Dangote Group remains one of Nigeria’s largest private-sector employers and a leading contributor to national tax revenues.
The company also commended the Nigerian judiciary for upholding justice, describing it as “the bastion of hope” amid attempts to undermine the rule of law.
Reaffirming its commitment to Nigeria’s progress, Dangote Refinery pledged to continue its operations without disruption.
“Our dedication to the Nigerian nation and our pact with its people remain undiluted and unalterable. We will persist in serving faithfully through the uninterrupted production of petroleum products,” the statement concluded.
