Ecobank Nigeria, a subsidiary of the Ecobank Group, is teaming up with Women in Mining in Nigeria (WIMIN) for its highly anticipated annual Gold & Gemstone Conference & Exhibition (GGCE). The three-day event, scheduled from Thursday, September 26th to Saturday, September 28th, will take place at the Ecobank Pan African Centre (EPAC) in Victoria Island, Lagos, as reported by the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP).
The GGCE, under the leadership of WIMIN’s Founder, Honorable Engineer Janet Adeyemi, has become a key platform for empowering women and fostering innovation in Nigeria’s mining industry. This year’s edition marks a significant milestone as it merges with the African Gem and Jewellery Conference and Exhibition (AGJEC), drawing participants from across the continent. Attendees can expect a dazzling showcase of gold and gemstone jewelry, cutting-edge mining technologies, and sustainable practices.
Mrs. Adesuwa Dan-Princewill, Chairman of the WIMIN Gold and Gemstone Conference, emphasized the conference’s role in adding value to Nigeria’s mining sector through collaboration and partnership. “WIMIN GGCE Lagos provides a unique platform for the jewelry trade in Nigeria. By bringing together women from across the continent, we are fostering innovation and driving value addition in the mining sector,” she said.
Honorable Engineer Adeyemi echoed these sentiments, expressing her excitement about WIMIN’s growth and the impact of the GGCE. “This event is a testament to the power of women in the mining industry. Ecobank Nigeria’s Head of SMEs, Partnerships, and Collaborations, Omoboye Odu, highlighted the bank’s support as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. She noted that the initiative aligns with Ecobank’s mission to support professional organizations contributing to Nigeria’s economic development.
