The family called on well-wishers to join them in prayers and honour the memory of the late elder statesman.
Fasoranti’s death was announced by Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Tuesday, October 20. The governor described him as a revered elder statesman whose life was dedicated to serving Ondo State, Yorubaland and Nigeria.
The late leader celebrated his 100th birthday in May and was a prominent figure in Nigeria’s pro-democracy struggle. He also served as a leading voice in Afenifere, the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation.
President Bola Tinubu and other political leaders have paid tributes to Fasoranti, acknowledging his contributions to public service, democratic governance and the development of the Yoruba people.
