The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commands of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have assured residents of enhanced security measures as both agencies strengthen collaboration.
This commitment was highlighted during a courtesy visit by the FCT Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, to the FCT NSCDC Command headquarters in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
Welcoming the CP, FCT NSCDC Commandant, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, emphasized the importance of synergy between the two organizations to ensure the safety of residents and the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI).
“Collaboration is crucial to maintaining peace and security. No single agency has a monopoly on effective security strategies. Unity and teamwork are essential in addressing the challenges in the FCT and the country at large,” Odumosu stated.
He reiterated the NSCDC’s readiness to partner with the police in combating crime and ensuring a peaceful Yuletide season, warning criminals to desist from unlawful activities. He also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly.
Describing CP Disu as one of the nation’s finest law enforcement leaders, Odumosu highlighted the benefits of his extensive experience in tackling insecurity.
In response, CP Disu underscored the critical role of inter-agency collaboration in maintaining security, stressing the importance of prompt intelligence sharing. He advocated for joint training programs and team-building activities to strengthen ties between personnel.
Disu assured the NSCDC of his unwavering commitment to fostering a robust partnership that would enhance field operations and overall service delivery. He lauded the camaraderie between both agencies, describing Odumosu as a trusted colleague and ally.
The visit concluded with an exchange of gifts between the two leaders, symbolizing mutual respect and their shared dedication to national security.
