The Federal Government has insisted that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is equitable in the allocation of projects, appointments, and opportunities across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made the clarification in a statement on Sunday, dismissing claims of marginalisation as “misinformation and half-truths.”
“President Bola Tinubu’s administration has been guided, at all times, by the principles of fairness, justice, and equity in the distribution of federal projects, appointments, and opportunities,” Idris said.
He maintained that infrastructure and development initiatives are being implemented nationwide, covering roads, railways, power, and healthcare. According to him, the establishment of regional development commissions and major projects such as the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway in the South and the Badagry–Sokoto Highway in the North reflect the government’s commitment to geographic balance.
Idris disclosed that more than 250,000 jobs are expected to be created through various infrastructure programmes. These include ₦150 billion and ₦100 billion light rail projects in Kano and Kaduna states, alongside metroline projects in Lagos and Ogun states.
“Contrary to the perception being pushed in some quarters, this administration has demonstrated uncommon commitment to balanced development and inclusivity,” he said. “The distribution of capital projects under President Bola Tinubu is equitable. No region is playing second fiddle or ignored.”
