In celebration of the 2025 Children’s Day, Fidelity Bank Plc marked the occasion with the launch of the Read2Lead Anthology, a collection of superhero-themed essays written by Nigerian children under its flagship literacy programme. The event, themed “The Fidelity Fantasyland 3.0,” took place at the Fidelity Grounds in Oniru, Lagos, drawing hundreds of students, educators, and parents for a day of fun and inspiration.
A highlight of the festivities was the unveiling of the Read2Lead Anthology, which showcases essays from 30 finalists of the Read2Lead competition. The stories, centered around the theme “Naija Superheroes”, capture the creativity and imagination of young Nigerian writers, emphasizing leadership, resilience, and national pride.
Addressing attendees, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, OON, Managing Director and CEO of Fidelity Bank, commended the more than 3,000 students who participated in the inaugural edition of the competition.
“Today is not just the conclusion of a competition—it is a celebration of vision, hard work, and potential,” she said. “Through Read2Lead, we have provided thousands of children with books, writing tools, and platforms to express themselves creatively. Education remains one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives, and this anthology is a powerful testament to the promise of Nigeria’s next generation.”
She encouraged guests to see the anthology as a “seed of wisdom, leadership, character, and a brighter tomorrow.”
As part of its support for academic excellence, the bank also awarded ₦150,000 scholarships each to four outstanding students—Thiago Chukwudubem Agada, Nabeela Nia Rufai, Victory Alize Chukwuebuka, and Osinachi Olivia Onyeaghala—selected through the Fidelity Savings Loyalty Scheme (FSLS).
The day’s programme included dancing competitions, arcade games, face painting, singing contests, and other engaging activities that ensured a memorable experience for children and families alike.
