Fidelity Bank Promotes 13% of Workforce in 2026

By Ayomide Otitoju

Fidelity Bank Plc has promoted 433 employees under its 2026 Promotion and Notch Award Exercise.

The number represents about 13 per cent of the bank’s workforce, up from 12 per cent in 2025 and 11 per cent in 2024, when 376 and 337 employees were promoted, respectively.

The bank said the exercise was aimed at recognising employee performance, rewarding excellence and strengthening its high-performance culture.

Since Nneka Onyeali Ikpe became Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Fidelity Bank has conducted annual promotion exercises to recognise staff contributions, strengthen institutional capacity and develop its leadership pipeline.

The bank said it had also continued to invest in employee welfare through measures aimed at improving productivity, workplace satisfaction and staff wellbeing.

These include salary increases across all grades in 2022, 2024 and 2025, the deployment of staff buses, enhanced medical support and expanded learning and development programmes.

Fidelity Bank also extended its mortgage and home ownership scheme to employees from Assistant Banking Executive to Deputy Manager, while increasing mortgage limits for eligible staff in line with prevailing market conditions.

The bank said it had sustained initiatives focused on employee engagement, collaboration, work-life balance, professional certification and continuous skills development.

The promotion exercise is part of the bank’s broader strategy to attract, develop, reward and retain talent while preparing employees for greater responsibilities.

Fidelity Bank serves more than 10 million customers through digital banking channels and 255 business offices in Nigeria, as well as its United Kingdom subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited.

The bank has received several local and international awards, including recognition for MSME support, retail and SME banking, export and trade finance, innovation and private banking.
