Fidelity Bank Wins Double Honours at 2025 BAFI Awards

By Ayomide Otitoju

Fidelity Bank Plc has reaffirmed its position as one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions, winning two prestigious awards at the 2025 BusinessDay Banks and Other Financial Institutions (BAFI) Awards.

The event, held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, saw Fidelity Bank receive accolades for “Best Bank for Export & Trade Finance” and “Most Innovative Bank of the Year.”

Speaking on the recognition, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, OON — represented by Executive Director/Chief Operations and Information Officer, Stanley Amuchie — dedicated the Export and Trade Finance Award to the bank’s customers.

“This recognition underscores our unwavering commitment to promoting non-oil exports and supporting Nigerian businesses to compete globally through initiatives such as the Fidelity International Trade & Creative Connect (FNITCC) and the Export Management Programme (EMP),” she said.

Now in its 12th year, the BAFI Awards remain a benchmark for excellence in Nigeria’s financial services sector, celebrating institutions demonstrating leadership, innovation, and impact in driving economic growth.

Fidelity Bank’s recognition follows several strategic achievements in the past year, including funding the first privately constructed onshore oil export terminal in Nigeria in 50 years — commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu — and launching the Fidelity SME Hub, a facility designed to foster small business growth through collaboration and capacity building.

The bank also hosted the third edition of the Fidelity Nigeria International Trade & Creative Connect (FNITCC) in Atlanta, USA, connecting Nigerian exporters with global retail giants such as Walmart and Target.

Commenting on the second award, Amuchie noted: “The innovation award validates our continued efforts to enhance efficiency, elevate customer experience, and strengthen business performance. We remain committed to introducing impactful solutions that empower customers and advance Nigeria’s financial services industry.”
