The Balmoral Convention Centre, Sheraton, Ikeja, came alive on Sunday, December 7, 2025, as Mainland Laffs 3.0—part of the annual Legends Decemba series—delivered an evening of top-tier entertainment. Backed by FirstBank Nigeria Limited under its DecemberIssaVybe campaign, the event drew a star-studded crowd and reaffirmed its status as one of Lagos Mainland’s most anticipated cultural showcases.
Guests were welcomed with a vibrant red-carpet experience, complete with branded installations and sponsor displays, setting the tone for a night that blended comedy, music, dance, and dramatic performances. Inside the hall, the atmosphere was electric as attendees settled into elegantly arranged seating facing a professionally designed stage equipped with advanced lighting, LED screens, and premium sound systems.
Headlining the comedy segment was veteran comedian Ali Baba, whose signature wit and presence elevated the show. He was joined by musical comedian Kenny Blaq and the fast-rising Phronesis, whose sharp humor kept the audience roaring with laughter. The event’s host, MC Husband Material (Eze Chuwudi), maintained a lively tempo throughout, ensuring seamless transitions between performers.
Additional comic acts—including MC Bishop, Dr. Smile, MC Trick, Abadei, and 16 Onirun—kept momentum high with a steady stream of jokes that resonated across age groups.
Beyond comedy, the programme featured diverse artistic displays. Gospel rapper Protech opened with an energetic performance, followed by CJ the Violinist’s soulful renditions. Mauren’s Art delivered an engaging dance routine that added depth to the evening’s artistic mix. A lineup of musical performers—Oba Richie, Angelo, Switch, and Ozzy—further amplified the festive mood.
The night reached its peak when music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia took the stage. Performing a medley of hits spanning his career, he drew the crowd into a nostalgic sing-along that highlighted his enduring influence on Nigerian music. His performance, marked by charisma and audience engagement, was met with overwhelming enthusiasm.
A vendor village surrounding the venue added to the festival atmosphere, offering local cuisine, drinks, fashion pieces, and accessories, while the Lagos State Government and LASAA provided logistical support that enhanced the event’s smooth execution.
FirstBank, the headline sponsor, said its support aligned with its commitment to celebrating creativity and community spirit through its DecemberIssaVybe events.
