Israeli rescue services on Monday confirmed that four people were killed when an Iranian missile struck a residential building in Haifa on Sunday.
“All four missing persons have been located… All were found without signs of life, and MDA paramedics declared them deceased,” said Magen David Adom. The victims—two men and two women—were all Israeli civilians from the same family.
Military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani said the missile caused destruction through direct impact rather than an explosion of explosive material.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed “deep sorrow” over the incident and urged residents to follow Home Front Command safety instructions.
Rescue teams removed the bodies from the rubble on Monday, deploying dozens of firefighters and medical personnel to the site. Four others were injured, including a 10-month-old baby with a head injury and an 82-year-old man struck by debris, who was later reported in stable condition.
Since midnight, Israel has reported five waves of Iranian missile attacks, with the military saying its defensive systems intercepted several threats. Other casualties included a 34-year-old woman in Petah Tikva and a 44-year-old man in Ramat Gan.
Iran has launched daily missile strikes on Israel since February 28 in retaliation for joint US-Israeli operations that killed top Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Twenty people have died in Israel since the conflict began, including four minors.
Israeli and US forces have conducted airstrikes targeting Iranian missile production and nuclear sites in response.
