In observance of World Clean-Up Day 2025, JMG Limited, a leading provider of integrated electromechanical solutions in Nigeria, mobilized its staff and executives to clean the streets of Gbagada, Lagos. Company personnel swapped suits for gloves and waste bags, removing plastics and other solid waste from the community that hosts its largest workforce.
The initiative went beyond sanitation, promoting recycling, proper waste segregation, and shared responsibility for maintaining a cleaner, healthier environment. This year’s global event, held annually on September 20, focused on ‘Textile and Fashion Waste’, a pressing environmental challenge that generates over 92 million tons of waste annually.
Rabi Jammal, Group General Manager of JMG Limited, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability, emphasizing that waste management in its host community is a core corporate value aligned with World Clean-Up Day principles. He highlighted JMG’s adoption of clean energy solutions, including solar installations at its headquarters, as part of its efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
Benedict Odamah, JMG’s Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Manager, noted that the clean-up encourages staff engagement in sustainable practices while educating residents on responsible waste disposal and recycling. Goke Atiba, Marketing Executive, added that the company’s community support includes providing solar panels and inverters to Primary Healthcare Centres across Lagos State.
Residents lauded the initiative, with Kayode Adebayo stating, “Seeing JMG roll up its sleeves to clean the environment where they operate shows they genuinely care about our surroundings and our well-being.”
JMG, with expertise in power generation, electrical infrastructure, vertical transportation, cooling systems, and air compressors, has also been expanding its clean energy solutions since 2018. The company offers solar and hybrid power options through Lithion and Livfast inverters and batteries and, in 2024, broadened its portfolio with LONGi solar panels, Deye lithium batteries, and Must solar inverters to enhance alternative power solutions for customers.
