JMG Limited, through its Clima division, and Trane Technologies have highlighted the growing demand for energy-efficient air-conditioning and climate-control systems as Nigeria’s construction and industrial sectors continue to expand.
The companies made the call at The Big 5 Construct Nigeria 2026 in Lagos, where they showcased cooling solutions for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
JMG Limited is the official distributor of Trane air-conditioning solutions in Nigeria.
Vineeth Vijayan, Sales Leader, Nigeria and Ghana, Trane Air Conditioning, said the rapid growth in construction was driving increased demand for specialised cooling systems.
“Buildings are going up, left, right and centre, and these buildings require cooling, specialised kinds of cooling and commercial cooling,” Vijayan said.
He added that Trane offers solutions designed to meet different cooling requirements across the market.
Idoko Jonahs Adejoh, Business Development Manager, HVAC, JMG Limited, said the focus should extend beyond the installation of cooling equipment to its long-term operating costs.
According to him, the partnership between JMG Clima and Trane Technologies is aimed at providing HVAC systems that combine cooling performance with improved energy efficiency.
“JMG Clima has partnered with Trane Technologies to provide heating, ventilation and cooling systems to Nigeria, not just cooling systems, but cooling systems that are energy efficient,” Adejoh said.
He noted that although energy-efficient systems could require higher initial investment, their lower energy consumption could deliver savings over time.
“The initial investment into this might be a bit high, but in the long run, it cuts down on your energy consumption, giving you good value for your investment,” he said.
Vijayan also said customers benefit from JMG’s local support throughout the sales and after-sales process.
“Customers are benefiting not really only on the sales aspect, but also on the after-sales aspect,” he said.
With construction activity increasing across Nigeria, demand for cooling systems is increasingly shifting beyond basic comfort to include energy efficiency, reliability and long-term value.
The development is placing greater emphasis on HVAC technologies that can help building owners manage operating costs while maintaining comfortable indoor environments.
