Joao Pedro Signs New Chelsea Contract Until 2034

Chelsea have confirmed that Brazil international Joao Pedro has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2034.

The forward joined the Blues from Brighton and Hove Albion in July 2025 and made an immediate impact, scoring in the Club World Cup semi-final and final as Chelsea lifted the trophy.

Joao Pedro maintained his impressive form during his first full season at Stamford Bridge, scoring 20 goals in all competitions and being voted Chelsea’s Supporters’ Player of the Season for the 2025/26 campaign.

“I am very happy to sign a new contract with Chelsea,” Joao Pedro said. “I always dreamed of playing for a big club, and it means a lot to me to give my long-term commitment to this club.

“Chelsea has a long tradition of winning and it has big ambitions for the future. I have a very good relationship with everyone here at the club and I have felt at home here in London from the moment that I joined.”

The 24-year-old scored twice against former club Fluminense to help Chelsea reach the Club World Cup final before finding the net again in the victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

His strong goalscoring form continued into the 2025/26 season. Joao Pedro scored Chelsea’s opening goal of the campaign away at West Ham United and later netted the only goal in an away victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

He also made his mark in the UEFA Champions League, scoring a brace in Chelsea’s victory over Napoli.

Joao Pedro finished the season with 20 goals across all competitions, earning widespread support from Chelsea fans as he was named the club’s Player of the Season.

Looking ahead to the new campaign, the Brazilian expressed confidence in Chelsea’s ambitions and said he remains fully committed to the club.

“Everyone is very excited for this season. We know we can achieve a lot of things, we have a great team, we have a coach who wants to win and has won already,” he said.

“I am fully committed, everyone is ready and hopefully we can achieve our targets.”
