NNPC, 20th Oil and Gas Industry Games Open in Abuja

The 20th edition of the Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Games (NOGIG) officially commenced on Saturday at the Indoor Sports Hall, Package B of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

NNPC Limited featured prominently at the opening ceremony of the 2026 tournament, with its Group Chief Operating Officer, Roland Ewubare; Executive Vice President, Gas, Power and New Energy, Olalekan Ogunleye; and Executive Vice President, Business Services, Sophia Mbakwe, in attendance alongside other senior industry executives and staff.

The week-long sporting event, scheduled to run from February 8 to 14, will see athletes from NNPC Limited compete in a wide range of events, including athletics, badminton, basketball, chess, scrabble, swimming, squash, table tennis, tennis, volleyball and 8-ball pool.

NNPC Limited expressed optimism about strong performances by its athletes, reaffirming its commitment to promoting fitness, teamwork and camaraderie within the oil and gas industry, as it aims to defend its overall championship title won at the 19th edition of the NOGIG tournament.
