The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), under the leadership of Group CEO Mele Kyari, has unveiled the Production Monitoring Command Centre (PMCC), a cutting-edge platform aimed at transforming hydrocarbon operations. This initiative, driven by NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services (NUIMS), is part of efforts to enhance monitoring, operational efficiency, and production within Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
Supporting National and Industry Goals
The PMCC aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s policy agenda to increase efficiency and production in the energy sector. Serving as a unified monitoring platform, the PMCC tracks hydrocarbon molecules from production to export terminals, covering both Joint Ventures (JVs) and Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs). By consolidating real-time data from multiple operators, the PMCC provides a comprehensive view of production activities, enabling timely identification of anomalies and ensuring seamless operations.

Equipped with advanced analytics and integrated data systems, the PMCC empowers stakeholders with actionable insights for better decision-making. These capabilities enhance planning, resource allocation, and risk management, allowing operators to meet production targets efficiently while maintaining high operational standards.

Under Kyari’s leadership, NNPC Ltd has achieved a production increase to 1.8 million barrels per day (bpd) and is targeting 2 million bpd. The PMCC is central to this ambition, playing a key role in boosting efficiency and optimizing production capabilities.
