Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have renewed efforts to deepen bilateral energy cooperation following a high-level meeting in Abuja.
The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, met with the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Al Shamsi, at the UAE Embassy, where both parties explored opportunities to expand collaboration across the energy value chain.
Discussions focused on upstream oil and gas investments, gas development and monetisation, crude oil trading, and infrastructure financing, reflecting the strong and evolving energy partnership between the two countries.
Ojulari stated that NNPC Ltd., as a commercially driven entity, offers a range of bankable projects and remains open to strategic, value-driven partnerships with key UAE institutions, including the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), and the National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC).
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to sustained cooperation, anchored on mutual respect and a shared goal of long-term energy development.
The engagement builds on earlier commitments by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to strengthen bilateral ties and translate diplomatic intentions into concrete, mutually beneficial projects.
