Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, has assured that he will not impose candidates on the people ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governor also reaffirmed his support for the re-election of Bola Tinubu, stating that he had not endorsed any aspirant apart from the President, whom he said has shown commitment to the development of the state.
Nwifuru made this known in a statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor.
He urged political aspirants to exercise restraint in their conduct and public statements to avoid escalating political tensions, emphasising the need for humility and patience.
The governor further disclosed plans to convene stakeholder meetings across the state to ensure a smooth electoral process, noting that discussions would cover key positions including the Senate, House of Representatives, State House of Assembly, and the governorship.
However, he maintained that the presidential election would not be part of the deliberations, reiterating the state’s firm support for President Tinubu at the polls.
