The Olowu of Kuta, His Royal Majesty Oba Dr. Hammed Oyelude Makama, CON, Tegbosun III, has congratulated the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, on the occasion of his 51st birthday.
In a statement personally signed by him, Oba Makama praised the Ooni’s unwavering commitment to unifying and repositioning traditional institutions across Yorubaland.
He commended the Ooni for his maturity and restraint in the face of provocation, noting that despite the actions of a few detractors, Ooni Ogunwusi has remained focused on his mission to strengthen traditional leadership and empower the youth.
“Ooni Ogunwusi has continued to earn accolades and has remained unperturbed in the face of provocation,” Olowu stated. “Like the deity that he is, the Ooni has grown in stature as a father to all and continues to chart a new course for the youth of this nation.”
The Olowu further lauded the Ooni’s leadership during the recent meeting of traditional rulers in Lagos, where he championed greater recognition for traditional institutions nationwide.
“Your noble role in advocating more inclusion for Kabiyesis, Obis, Offalas, Emirs, and Etsu Nupes is well documented for posterity,” he said. “You have always been at the forefront of efforts to restore the dignity of traditional institutions as the custodian of culture and heritage.”
On behalf of his Oloris, the Olowu-in-Council, and the people of Kuta, Oba Makama wished the Ooni continued good health, long life, and prosperity.
“Ajinde ara a má jẹ́ fún yin,” he added. “Keep ageing gracefully, our defender and promoter-in-chief of culture and tradition.”
