Oyo PDP Names Secretariat After Ex-Chairman Mustapha

By Ayomide Otitoju

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Tuesday announced that the newly unveiled Oyo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secretariat in Ibadan will be named after former state chairman, Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha.

Speaking at the event, Makinde said the PDP in Oyo has overcome internal disruption and is now united. “This is PDP State Secretariat. We were out of power from 2011 to 2019. In 2019, a chairman led the PDP back to power. That chairman is Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha. This house is going to be named Omokunmi Mustapha House,” he said.

He instructed that Mustapha’s name be prominently etched on the property and noted that the secretariat would be formally placed under the care of the party’s trustees. “I will hand over the document of this property to our national chairman for onward transmission to the Board of Trustees that holds things in trust for the PDP,” Makinde said.

The governor also reiterated that individuals he described as “vagabonds” who previously wielded influence within the party have been expelled, declaring that the PDP in Oyo is now free from internal disruption.
