Peter Obi Donates ₦10 Million to Mbano College of Nursing

Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State and 2023 presidential candidate, has extended financial support of ₦10 million to the College of Nursing Sciences, Mbano, in Imo State. Obi made the announcement via his official Twitter account, emphasizing his dedication to national development through investments in education and healthcare.

The donation underscores his commitment to bolstering critical sectors that are central to the nation’s progress.

“I am delighted with the consistent growth of the institution, which started as a School of Nursing and has now advanced to a College of Nursing Sciences, producing well-trained nurses and midwives for our society,” Obi tweeted.

Obi expressed confidence that his contribution would aid the college’s continued growth. He also reiterated his long-standing advocacy for increased government funding for educational and healthcare institutions, stating that such investments are crucial for national development.

“In these challenging times, our educational and health institutions deserve our support more than ever,” he wrote. “We must prioritize funding these critical institutions to raise an educated and healthy population that can transform our nation from consumption to production.”

Obi commended all those who have contributed time, resources, and effort toward improving the education and health sectors, affirming that their dedication is instrumental in building a better Nigeria.
