Former Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi, on Sunday paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello.

Bello made this known on his Facebook page as he uploaded a picture of himself and the football star.

The Governor wrote, “Earlier today, I received in audience my dear brother and friend, Mikel John Obi, Ex super Eagles International player, UEFA Champions League winner, English Premier League winner, FA cup winner, AFCON winner, and FIFA under-17 silver medalist.

“The future is bright for the Nigerian youth. God bless Nigeria.”

Mikel Obi’s visit to Bello comes three days after the Ultimate Fighting Championship Welterweight Champion, Kamaru Usman,  met with Bello on his visit to Nigeria.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Obi had declared his interest to work with Yahaya towards ‘the betterment of Nigeria’.

“My main aim is to come here to show my appreciation and to thank him for all the things he has been doing for the people and also to support him in whatever future political positions he wants to go into.
