The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has addressed Nigeria’s worsening security situation and the recent warning from former US President Donald Trump, who suggested potential US military intervention if the government fails to halt attacks on Christians.
Speaking at the November Holy Ghost Service at the RCCG Camp along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Friday night, Pastor Adeboye urged Nigerians not to place blame on President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing that the security challenges predate his administration.
“This is not the time for apportioning blame. Our President inherited this problem — it started before him,” Adeboye stated.
Earlier this week, former President Trump redesignated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern (CPC)” under the US International Religious Freedom Act, citing ongoing violence and alleged persecution of Christians. The CPC designation enables the US government to impose sanctions, restrict aid, or apply diplomatic pressure on countries deemed to have committed severe violations of religious freedom.
