Renaissance Africa Energy, a consortium of five energy companies, has announced plans to expand its portfolio in Nigeria and is seeking new partners to support oil and gas development.
The announcement was made by Tony Attah, Managing Director and CEO of Renaissance Africa Energy, during African Energy Week (AEW): Invest in African Energies 2025.
“We are born in Nigeria and made for Africa,” Attah said, reaffirming the company’s ambition to become the continent’s leading energy provider. “We strive to enable energy security and industrialization in a sustainable manner.”
Attah outlined a broad investment portfolio comprising 18 blocks – 15 onshore and three offshore – along with 46 producing fields, 643 active conduits, 29 flow stations, and five gas plants. He also highlighted the company’s growth targets, which include boosting liquid production to 500,000 barrels per day by 2030 and achieving 1 billion cubic feet per day of domestic gas supply.
In March 2025, Renaissance Africa Energy – formed by ND Western, Aradel Holdings, First Exploration and Petroleum Development Company, Waltersmith Group, and Petrolin Group – completed a $1.3 billion acquisition of Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria.
The consortium said its long-term vision is to emerge as Africa’s foremost energy company, advancing energy security and industrialization across the continent.
