The Nigeria Police Force has announced the passing of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Njangor Egbe Njom, a distinguished officer and devoted pastor. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the age of 82.
Born on March 15, 1942, in Etomi Village, Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State, AIG Njom had a remarkable career in the Nigeria Police Force, where he rose to the rank of Assistant Inspector General. Renowned for his integrity, commitment, and selflessness, he once served as the Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, Kano, earning widespread respect within and beyond the force.
A Life of Service and Faith
After retiring from active service, AIG Njom dedicated his life to ministry as a pastor with the Deeper Life Bible Church, continuing to impact lives with his unwavering faith, compassion, and principles. He remained a role model and mentor to many, embodying the values of service, dedication, and humility throughout his life.
Tributes and Condolences
The Inspector General of Police, alongside the entire Nigeria Police Force, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, extending heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones.
“AIG Njangor Egbe Njom was an officer of distinction and a man of faith who left an indelible mark on the force and the communities he served. His legacy will remain an enduring source of inspiration,” the statement read.
The late AIG Njom is remembered as a pillar of service and spirituality, whose contributions to both the Nigeria Police Force and his religious community will not be forgotten.
