Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended Christmas greetings to residents of the state and Nigerians nationwide, calling on citizens to embrace love, peace and compassion as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

In a Christmas message released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, the governor urged Nigerians to remain their brother’s keepers by showing kindness and generosity to one another during the festive season.

Sanwo-Olu said Christmas provides an opportunity to reflect on the significance of Christ’s birth and its message of love to humanity, encouraging citizens to strengthen bonds of unity and togetherness.

He also appealed to Christians in Lagos State to continue to live in peace and harmony with people of other faiths, stressing the importance of humility, tolerance, perseverance and compassion, virtues he described as central to the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

Reflecting on the outgoing year, the governor acknowledged the challenges faced by residents but commended their resilience and strong sense of community, noting that these qualities offer hope for a better future.

“I pray that this Christmas brings peace to your homes and joy to your hearts. Thank you for your continued support and belief in a greater Lagos,” Sanwo-Olu said
