Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as a compassionate leader and a dependable mother of the nation.
Sanwo-Olu praised Tinubu for her contributions to public service and her efforts to support women, children and vulnerable members of society.
The governor, in a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, described the former three-term senator as an advocate of social justice, philanthropist and voice for disadvantaged Nigerians.
He congratulated Tinubu on behalf of his wife, Ibijoke, his family, the Lagos State Government and residents, as well as leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress.
Sanwo-Olu said Tinubu had dedicated nearly three decades to public service, including three terms representing Lagos Central Senatorial District in the Senate.
According to him, she sponsored and supported legislation aimed at improving the welfare of women, children and vulnerable people, while also providing personal assistance to individuals and groups seeking support for development.
The governor also commended Tinubu’s work as First Lady through the Renewed Hope Initiative, which he said had provided support to families and communities across the country.
He said Tinubu had made significant contributions as a lawmaker, philanthropist and advocate of social justice, while also supporting President Bola Tinubu in his public service.
Sanwo-Olu wished the First Lady continued good health, divine guidance and strength to continue her service to Nigerians.
