Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended warm congratulations to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, on the occasion of his 60th birthday. In a statement released on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended Egbetokun’s unwavering commitment and dedication to public service, describing him as a vibrant, trustworthy, and diligent officer.
Sanwo-Olu highlighted Egbetokun’s impressive career, noting that the IGP has consistently demonstrated professionalism and dedication in his various roles within the Nigeria Police Force. “The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, is a committed and dedicated public servant. He has displayed a high degree of dedication and professionalism to service in the public sector, contributing his quota to the growth and development of the Nigeria Police,” the Governor stated.
He praised Egbetokun as a seasoned administrator who has utilized his extensive knowledge and experience to drive positive changes within the Nigeria Police since assuming leadership as IGP. Sanwo-Olu also acknowledged Egbetokun’s significant contributions during his tenure in Lagos State, where he served with distinction as the Chief Security Officer to former Governor Bola Tinubu and as Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).
“IGP Egbetokun has dedicated his young and adult life to the service of his country as a principled police officer, serving in different capacities, especially in Lagos State, where he served passionately,” Sanwo-Olu added.
On behalf of his family, the government, and the people of Lagos State, Governor Sanwo-Olu offered heartfelt congratulations to IGP Egbetokun on his milestone birthday. “I pray that the Almighty God continues to bestow on him wisdom for continuous service to humanity, the police, and Nigeria,” the Governor concluded.
