Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Nigeria’s Super Falcons on their record-breaking 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title, praising the team’s resilience and unyielding spirit.
In a statement released on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Governor Sanwo-Olu described the Falcons’ victory over Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses as a reflection of Nigeria’s sporting excellence and the team’s dedication to national pride.
“Congratulations to our incredible Super Falcons on their well-deserved WAFCON victory,” the governor said. “They fought gallantly and showed the world the strength and spirit of Nigerian football.”
He lauded the players and coaching crew for their outstanding performance during Saturday night’s dramatic final in Rabat, describing the triumph as a product of discipline, teamwork, and belief.
“The win is a testament to the determination and commitment of the Super Falcons to accomplish Mission X,” he said. “A flawless 10 out of 10 performance.”
Sanwo-Olu expressed deep appreciation to the team and its technical staff for making the nation proud, noting that their victory serves as an inspiration to future generations of Nigerian athletes.
