Telecoms giant Globacom has announced a comprehensive rollout of network infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving connectivity and service quality nationwide.
The company is deploying hundreds of new base stations and expanding 4G LTE coverage to underserved areas. It is also relocating fibre infrastructure in regions affected by road construction, including Lafia-Akwanga and Funtua-Gusau, to restore optimal network function.
“These projects reflect our deep commitment to providing world-class service and adapting to changing infrastructure landscapes,” the company said in a statement.
Globacom is also enhancing core network capacity and backhaul infrastructure and expanding its hybrid power model to cut carbon emissions. Despite the upgrades, the telco raised concerns over persistent vandalism and called for stricter protection of telecom infrastructure designated as national assets.
