Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extended his heartfelt congratulations to President Bola Tinubu on his 73rd birthday, describing him as a “rare gift to humanity” and a visionary leader whose contributions to governance and development remain unparalleled.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu lauded Tinubu’s political acumen, democratic values, and transformative impact on Lagos State and Nigeria at large.
“On behalf of my wife, Ibijoke, my family, the government and people of Lagos State, as well as the entire leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, I congratulate our leader and benefactor, President Bola Tinubu, on his 73rd birthday,” the governor stated.
Sanwo-Olu highlighted Tinubu’s dedication to public service, noting that his tenure as Lagos State Governor from 1999 to 2007 laid the foundation for the state’s economic and infrastructural growth. He credited Tinubu’s financial strategies and governance reforms for elevating Lagos to its current status as Africa’s second-largest economy, with a GDP of $259 billion.
“President Tinubu is a detribalized Nigerian whose leadership embraces all regions. In less than two years as President, he has delivered democratic dividends across the country through his Renewed Hope Agenda,” Sanwo-Olu added.
Praising Tinubu’s courage and integrity in governance, the Lagos governor expressed confidence in his ability to steer Nigeria toward greater political and economic prosperity. He prayed for continued strength, wisdom, and good health for the President as he continues to serve the nation.
