Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday led a cabinet delegation to inspect two key state projects—the Multi-Agency Office Complex and the Lagos Geographic Information Service (LAGIS) Building—located within the Central Business District in Alausa, Ikeja.
The Multi-Agency Complex, a multi-storey office building, is designed to centralise the operations of critical state agencies and reduce congestion at the Secretariat. The development includes office spaces, relaxation facilities, a multi-level car park with capacity for over 600 vehicles, and advanced safety features to improve administrative efficiency.
The LAGIS building, a five-floor structure initiated by the Sanwo-Olu administration, aims to provide one-stop access to geospatial mapping, urban planning, and land administration services.
Governor Sanwo-Olu described both projects as “masterpieces” and confirmed that the Multi-Agency Complex is practically completed, with only finishing work pending on the ground floor and setbacks. He added that the contractor is expected to complete final clean-up within the next two weeks in preparation for commissioning.
“The LAGIS Building, though constructed more recently, is also a unique masterpiece, designed to meet our spatial and geographic information system deliverables for land administration. Construction is expected to advance quickly over the next three weeks to reach completion,” Sanwo-Olu said.
The Governor revealed that the formal opening of the buildings would be symbolic, with plans for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to commission the projects during an upcoming state visit, with the date yet to be announced.
Sanwo-Olu emphasised the impact of the new buildings on public service delivery, noting that improved working environments for civil servants would translate into faster and more efficient services for citizens.
“The space in which services are being rendered is critical to us as a government. That is why we are creating better working environments for our staff,” he said.
