Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering good governance and the dividends of democracy to Lagos residents, stating that the Silverbird Governor of the Year Award will further motivate him to serve the people.
The governor made this pledge on Sunday night after receiving the prestigious award at a ceremony held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island. Accompanied by members of the Lagos State Executive Council and top government officials, Sanwo-Olu dedicated the award to the people of Lagos.
In his acceptance speech, he vowed to redouble his efforts in advancing the state’s development, emphasizing his administration’s focus on impactful governance.
“This award is a tribute to the hard-working and resilient people of Lagos State who have supported our vision and initiatives. Your unwavering belief fuels our commitment to excellence,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
The governor also lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, crediting him as the visionary leader behind modern Lagos. He highlighted Tinubu’s innovative policies during his tenure as the first Lagos State governor in the Fourth Republic, which he said laid the foundation for the state’s transformation.
Sanwo-Olu further described Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda as a crucial strategy for Nigeria’s economic recovery, expressing confidence in its potential to drive national progress.
Reiterating his administration’s dedication to governance, he urged Lagosians to continue collaborating with the government for a brighter future.
“Together, we have made significant strides. Let us continue to work hand in hand to create a brighter future for every Lagosian,” he added.
The governor also extended his appreciation to the Silverbird Group for the recognition, acknowledging its contribution to celebrating leadership excellence in Nigeria.
