Mamelodi Sundowns have been crowned CAF Champions League winners after holding FAR Rabat to a 1–1 draw in the second leg of the final in Morocco on Sunday, sealing a 2–1 aggregate victory.
Midfielder Teboho Mokoena and goalkeeper Ronwen Williams delivered decisive performances as Sundowns secured their second continental title, having previously won the competition in 2016.
FAR Rabat took the lead through a Mohamed Hrimat penalty, but Mokoena restored parity in first-half stoppage time to level the match and keep the South African side ahead on aggregate after their 1–0 first-leg win in Pretoria.
The turning point came in the 77th minute when Williams saved another Hrimat penalty, a crucial stop that deflated the home crowd and preserved Sundowns’ aggregate advantage.
The match, played in front of a near-capacity crowd in Rabat, was marked by high intensity, multiple bookings, and sustained pressure from the Moroccan side as they pushed for a comeback.
FAR Rabat needed at least one more goal to overturn the deficit, but Sundowns held firm defensively, with disciplined organisation and key interventions in goal.
Late attempts from both sides failed to change the outcome, as Sundowns managed the closing stages to secure victory and lift the trophy once again.
