President Bola Tinubu has directed the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations to apprehend those responsible for the deadly attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The directive was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, the President ordered security agencies to step up operations across the affected communities to swiftly track down the perpetrators and restore peace to the area.
“I have directed the Armed Forces, police and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations across the affected areas to track down the perpetrators swiftly and restore normalcy to the region,” Tinubu said.
The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture by equipping security personnel and dismantling criminal networks threatening the nation’s peace and stability.
“Our administration has an unwavering commitment to strengthening security infrastructure, equipping response personnel and neutralising criminal networks attempting to disrupt the peace of the nation,” he added.
Tinubu also appealed to residents of the affected communities to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible and timely intelligence that could support early response efforts.
The directive followed a deadly attack on Naridon Village in the early hours of Monday, during which about 30 residents, including women and children, were reportedly killed, while several houses were destroyed.
Condemning the incident, the President described the assault as a “barbaric and cowardly attack” on innocent citizens, calling it an unprovoked act of terror against defenceless people.
He vowed that those behind the killings would be brought to justice, stressing that individuals seeking to undermine the peace and security recorded in Kaduna State in recent times would face the full weight of the law.
Tinubu also extended his condolences to the families of the victims, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, the state government and the people of Kaduna State.
He assured the affected communities of the Federal Government’s support during the period of mourning and reiterated his administration’s determination to address security challenges across the country.
