Tourism Development: Ogun Pledges Support For NTDC

The Ogun State Government is ready to continually support and collaborate with the National Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), to develop the tourism sector with a view to making it one of the veritable tools for revenue generation.

Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo made this declaration in Abeokuta, while playing host to a team from the Corporation, led by the South West Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Rotimi Ayetan.

Taiwo stated that the Ministry’s vision and mission were in line with that of NTDC, which is to promote, preserve and protect the nation’s tourist sites, as well as project it on the global map, by creating an enabling environment for partnership.

Earlier in his welcome address, Mr. Ayetan said the essence of the team’s visit was to fashion out ways on how the collaboration would work, as this would place the tourism potentials and sites of the State on the world map and seek new frontiers in the celebration of the 2021 World Tourism Day, with emphasis on creating awareness for Domestic Tourism.
