The British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Jonny Baxter, recently visited the head office of Fidelity Bank Plc in Lagos as part of efforts to strengthen economic and trade relations between the United Kingdom and Nigeria.

The visit formed part of a broader four-day trip to Nigeria by the UK Trade Envoy, Florence Eshalomi, aimed at deepening bilateral trade and investment cooperation, particularly in key sectors such as fintech, manufacturing and agriculture.

During the engagement, discussions focused on expanding collaboration in the financial services sector and exploring opportunities for Nigerian companies to access global capital markets, including potential Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) through the London Stock Exchange.

Officials noted that the UK remains committed to supporting Nigerian businesses as they scale internationally, while ensuring that the growing economic partnership between both countries delivers inclusive and sustainable benefits.
