Wema Bank, Nigeria’s leading innovative financial institution and pioneer of Africa’s first fully digital bank, ALAT, has reinforced its commitment to women’s empowerment by disbursing N11 million to 131 women across Nigeria in the Women’s Month draw of the Wema Bank 5 for 5 Promo. The draw, held on Friday, March 21, 2025, in Aba, Nigeria, was part of the bank’s broader efforts to promote financial inclusion and reward customer loyalty.
Launched in 2021, the 5 for 5 Promo is Wema Bank’s customer reward initiative designed to appreciate active engagement with its products and services. Over three seasons, the promo has distributed more than N150 million to 2,378 Nigerians across the country. Now in its fourth season, with a total cash prize of N135 million, the promo has already disbursed over N50 million since October 2024 through daily, weekly, and monthly draws.
For its fifth monthly draw in March, the bank dedicated the N11 million cash prize exclusively to women. Among the winners were Ogechukwu Patience Ani from Aba, Vanessa Chiamaka Ogbonna from Lagos, and Mubarakah Abisola Alowonle from Bodija, each receiving N1 million. Additionally, eight domiciliary account holders won N250,000 each, while 40 women won N100,000 each, and 80 others received N25,000 each.
Congratulating the winners, Wema Bank’s Managing Director/CEO, Moruf Oseni, reaffirmed the bank’s unwavering commitment to empowering women.
