Wema Bank Recognized as Best Workplace for Millennials, Innovation Leader

By Ayomide Otitoju

Wema Bank has been recognized as the best workplace for millennials and for fostering a culture of innovation. The recognition came as part of the bank’s certification as a Great Place to Work for 2024-2025, marking the second consecutive year it has earned the prestigious accolade.

The Great Place to Work certification is an internationally recognized standard that evaluates organizations based on workplace culture, practices, and employee feedback.

“Wema Bank’s dedication to creating a positive work environment and prioritizing employee well-being has earned it this honor once again,” the bank said in a statement.

The bank was noted for offering leading employee benefits, including extended leave days, cost-of-living adjustments to mitigate economic challenges, and a salary increase for non-full-time staff. Wema Bank also supports work-life balance through facilities such as a fully equipped gym and a creche for employees’ children.

Moruf Oseni, Managing Director and CEO of Wema Bank, credited the recognition to the bank’s focus on employee welfare. “At Wema Bank, we recognize that our exceptional output is a direct result of the dedication of our employees, particularly millennials, who drive our success. We remain focused on providing a fulfilling work experience for all our employees,” Oseni said.

In addition to its workplace accolades, Wema Bank recently launched ALATPay, a payment gateway designed for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The platform offers a secure shopping experience and instant settlements for merchants, underscoring the bank’s commitment to supporting businesses across Nigeria.
